Add Cal Point

Add Cal Point

The Add Cal Point command is used to calibrate a specific point on a raster map. When you execute this command, you are prompted for the vehicle whose position you wish to use to calibrate a map. The vehicle must be currently displayed in the topmost map window. Once in this mode, the next mouse click in the topmost map window will create a new calibration point in the cal point list in that map's legend definition.

Once defined, calibration points are directly associated with a map's legend definition. They are in no way associated with a specific vehicle or vehicles.

If you're not sure that the desired window is on top, just click on its caption bar and move it a bit. This will cause it to become the topmost window.

When you click the mouse, you are telling RASTRAC , "The vehicle is REALLY here," and RASTRAC adds the new cal point to the *.LEG file cal point list so that the displayed position will be corrected at that geographic point. Once the new position is entered, calibration mode is automatically terminated. You can enter only one calibration point for each execution of the Add Cal Point command.

Note: You can enter as many calibration points as you like, and RASTRAC performs a "best-fit" algorithm to optimally display vehicle locations on the map image.

It is recommended that you use the "Piecewise Linear" interpolation method in the Tools... Options... System... Map property sheet.
