PW_Street Map Layers

PW_Street Map Layers (Shift+L)
The PW_Street Map Layers dialog is for creating and manipulating PW_Street map
layers and projects. Using this dialog you can add map layers to your default
PW_Street maps (e.g. Map_1). NOTE: The map directory and icons directory
must be stored under the RASTRAC install directory.
Steps to Create a new PW_Street Map Project
- Go to Map...PW_Street Map...Layers to open the PW_Street Map Layers dialog.
You may also press Shift+L on the keyboard to open the dialog.
- Click the "New Project" button. This will cause the "New Project" dialog to
appear.
- Enter a name for the new project (do not use ‘Rtmx’).
- Click OK. The project name will appear and be selected in the "Projects" list
box.
- Add and set properties for all the layers you would like to include in the
project. See below for details.
Steps to Duplicate a PW_Street Map Project
- Go to Map...PW_Street Map...Layers to open the PW_Street Map Layers dialog.
You may also press Shift+L on the keyboard to open the dialog.
- Select the project you would like to duplicate from the "Projects" list box.
- Click the "Duplicate Project" button. This will cause the "New Project"
dialog to appear.
6. Enter a name for the new project.
7. Click OK. The project name will appear and be selected in the "Projects" list
box. This new project will have all the same properties as the project that
you duplicated.
8. Add and set properties for all the layers you would like to include in the
project. See below for details.
Steps to Delete a PW_Street Map Project
- Go to Map...PW_Street Map...Layers to open the PW_Street Map Layers dialog.
You may also press Shift+L on the keyboard to open the dialog.
- Select the project you would like to delete from the "Projects" list box.
- Click the "Delete Project" button. The project will be removed from the
"Projects" list box. Note: If this was the "Current Project", the "Current Project"
will be set to "None".
Steps to Set a Project to be Used by RASTRAC
- Go to Map...PW_Street Map...Layers to open the PW_Street Map Layers dialog.
You may also press Shift+L on the keyboard to open the dialog.
- Select the project you would like RASTRAC to use from the "Projects" list box.
- Click the "Use This Project" button. The project path will appear in the
"Current Project" text box. When you click OK, if a PW_Street maps are opened they
will be closed and reopened with the new layer being used (if the map does not
appear to be drawn properly you may need to restart RASTRAC to reload the map).
Steps to Clear the Project to be Used by RASTRAC
- Go to Map...PW_Street Map...Layers to open the PW_Street Map Layers dialog.
You may also press Shift+L on the keyboard to open the dialog.
- Click the "Clear" button. "None" will appear in the "Current Project" text
box. When you click OK, if the PW_Street maps are opened they will be closed and
reopened with no layers being used (if the map does not appear to be drawn
properly you may need to restart RASTRAC to reload the map).
Steps to Add a Layer
- Go to Map...PW_Street Map...Layers to open the PW_Street Map Layers dialog.
You may also press Shift+L on the keyboard to open the dialog.
- Select the project you would like to add the layer to from the Projects list
box.
- Select the layer you would like to add from the Layers list box.
- Check the "Include Layer in Project" check box.
- Set the layer properties.
Steps to Set Layer Properties
- Go to Map...PW_Street Map...Layers to open the PW_Street Map Layers dialog.
You may also press Shift+L on the keyboard to open the dialog.
- Select the project you would like use from the Projects list box.
- Make sure the "Include Layer in Project" box is checked.
- Select the layer you would like to set the layer properties for from the
Layers list box.
- Select the "Display Order (ZOrder)". The "Display Order" allows RASTRAC to know which map layers appear where in the third dimension. For example,
if Layer1’s display order is set to ‘Bottom Layer’ and Layer2’s display order is set to ‘Top Layer’, then Layer2 will be displayed on top of Layer1. Below is the Display Order
settings listed from bottom to top.

- If you would like the map layer to only be displayed when the map is zoomed in
so many feet, check the "Include Draw Scale?" checkbox in the "Display
Properties" section. Enter the number of feet the map must be zoomed in for the layer
to be displayed in the textbox. If the "Include Draw Scale?" checkbox is not
checked, the layer will always be drawn.
- If you would like to use an icon for the points in the layer, check the
"Include Icon?" checkbox in the "Icon" section. Choose the icon you would like to
use from the list box in the "Point Properties" section. If the "Include Icon?"
checkbox is not checked, the points in the map layer will have no icon.
- If you would like labels associated with the map layer to only be displayed
when the map is zoomed in so many feet, check the "Include Label Scale?" checkbox
in the "Label Properties" section. Enter the number of feet the map must be
zoomed in for the labels to be displayed in the textbox. If the "Include
Label Scale?" checkbox is not checked, the labels will always be drawn.
- If you would like labels to be associated with the map layer, check the
"Include Label Name?" checkbox in the "Label Properties" section. Enter the column
name that contains the labels in the textbox. If the "Include Label Name?"
checkbox is not checked, no labels will be displayed.
- If you would like to choose the label color for the layer, check the "Include
Color?" checkbox in the "Label Properties" section. Click the "Set Color…"
button to open the Color dialog. Choose one of the "Basic" colors or click the
"Define Custom Colors >>" button. Find the color you want and click OK.
- If you would like to set the line style for the layer, check the "Include
Style?" checkbox in the "Line Properties" section. Choose the style of line you
would like to use for this layer. Note: If you choose a number greater than 1 in
the "Line Width" section, the line style will be solid regardless of what is
selected in the "Line Style" section.
- If you would like to set the line width for the layer, check the "Include
Width?" checkbox in the "Line Properties" section. Choose a number for the width
of the line. Note: If you choose a number greater than 1, the line style will
be solid regardless of what is selected in the "Line Style" section.
- If you would like to choose the line color for the layer, check the "Include
Color?" checkbox in the "Line Properties" section. Click the "Set Color…"
button to open the Color dialog. Choose one of the "Basic" colors or click the
"Define Custom Colors >>" button. Find the color you want and click OK.
- If you would like to choose the area style for the layer, check the "Include
Style?" checkbox in the "Area Properties" section. Choose the area style you
would like to use for this layer.
- If you would like to choose the area color for the layer, check the "Include
Color?" checkbox in the "Area Properties" section. Click the "Set Color…"
button to open the Color dialog. Choose one of the "Basic" colors or click the
"Define Custom Colors >>" button. Find the color you want and click OK.
