Point Settings

The Point Settings command allows you to edit the default properties of the
points in your system.
Each specific point will have a name, location, and may have a unique vehicle
icon image, a unique color for its location, and additional settings. All
fields are optional except the Name, Latitude, and Longitude fields.
Name: This is the name of the point to display on the map.
Ignore This Point: This check box prohibits a point from being recognized by
the RASTRAC viewer. Selecting this box means that the selected point will not be
displayed on any maps.
Updated: Lists the last date and time the point was updated in the database.
Type: This is an ASCII text field that describes the type of point (e.g.
Home, Business, Gas Station, etc...).
Address: Use this field for entering an address for a point. Enter an
address just like the lookup address feature. List the street address, city, state, and zip code.
Use a comma (,) between fields without spaces (e.g. 13706 Research Blvd. Suite #211,Austin,TX,78750).
Notes: This is another ASCII text field for entering additional information
(description) about the point. You may wish to include dispatch type
information in this field (e.g. Mrs. Johnson needs her heating and air conditioning unit
serviced).
Latitude: This is the latitude (north/south) portion of the point’s location.
Longitude: This is the longitude (east/west) portion of the point’s location.
Altitude: If the point has an altitude, enter it here.
Icon Filename: The name of any .bmp image file that you wish to use for the
icon for that point (e.g. truck.bmp). Any .bmp icon can be used for raster
maps. Layered maps can only display the .bmp files that were delivered with the RASTRAC software (blue.bmp, red.bmp, yellow.bmp, etc...).
Text Color: The color of the point text to be displayed. Press the Set Color
button and select the desired color for the point name text to be displayed on
the map. Press the Reset Color button to reset (clear) the point name text
color (the default point color will be used).
The ‘Import From File...’ button will allow you to import (load) additional point settings from a file (point.ini).
Browse to a folder and select the point.ini file you wish to import points from. All points in the file will be imported into
RASTRAC except points already defined (existing points will not be modified or updated).
The ‘Reset’ button will clear all fields and deselect any points from the list. Use this
button if you want to add a new point manually and need to clear all fields.
