Simulate with Mouse

Simulate with Mouse

The Simulate with Mouse command allows you create a vehicle named ‘MOUSE’ for simulation purposes. You can move the ‘MOUSE’ vehicle ID by clicking the mouse on any position in any map window.

Each time the left mouse button is clicked inside a map window, that position is converted to a Latitude/Longitude and treated as any other incoming geographic position for the ‘MOUSE’ vehicle.

Since mouse input (once converted to Latitude/Longitude) is interpreted identically to other position input, you can simulate (and record, if you wish) any number of successive positions just as if the vehicle were actually traveling the described route.

You can use the Mouse Input function to fabricate a route for someone else's use. For example, you can record your mouse input and send the recorder file to a friend, who can then play back that file to view the route.

One important rule applies to the Simulate with Mouse input function. This function will have no effect unless a map is already displayed. This limitation exists because mouse input has no geographic meaning unless a map legend is present to act as a reference. You can easily cause a map window to open by using the "Map... Open" function.

If mouse input is on, the Simulate with Mouse command will turn it off.
