Vehicle Settings Advanced

Ignore This Vehicle: This check box prohibits a vehicle from being recognized
by the system. Selecting this box means that any reports received from the vehicle
will be treated as if they were never sent (the update will be discarded). This feature is a quick way to disable
a particular vehicle without having to delete the settings and reenter them later.
Stay Connected For (seconds): This option enables you to seize control of the RASTRAC I/O Processor
(the IOP connects you to the vehicle) for a specified amount of
time. Enter a –1 to stay connected with no time limit (it keeps you connected
indefinitely). Enter a 0 to disable the Stay Connected option. A value
greater than 0 keeps you connected to the IOP for the specified amount of time.
This field allows you to override all other RASTRAC viewers who may be using the same IOP.
This option is usually only used temporarily, and only in certain cases when multiple RASTRAC viewer
workstations are being used. This option is also useful when
connecting to a vehicle over a telephone network. This will keep
the connection opened instead of disconnecting after every command. Be careful
not to stay connected too long after you are done communicating with the
vehicle, or you may incur charges from your telephone service provider for over-the-air expenses.
Note: Depending on the communications link, the Stay Connected option may dominate
the channel (or telephone line) and not allow other RASTRAC viewers to access the communications network.
When Connected Auto Poll Every (seconds): This is the time between automatic polls of a vehicle after it is
connected. This option only applies to vehicles that also have the stay connected
option selected. After a connection has been established (any time a vehicle
update comes in and the stay connected option is selected) the vehicle will be polled at the rate entered.
Download History Every: This option specifies the time (in seconds) between automatic history downloads of a vehicle.
You can set up an automatic history download if the mobile unit is capable of storing and downloading history
data (only a few select modems support history download). This is independent of the ‘Get History’ command.
‘Get History’ works immediately to download the selected vehicle history with no regard to the
‘Download History’ settings. To enable auto polling/downloading
for the system, you must set the Auto Enabled… Polling option in the vehicle system
options - see System Options.
History Schedule: This button will allow you to set up a time/date schedule for downloading history (Get History).
Click this button to set up the desired history schedule. There are two
sections to the schedule. The top one is a list of day/date and times to download a
vehicl's history and the bottom list is for NOT downloading history. Use the bottom list to select
day/date and times that you do not want to download history. You can set it up so
download will be disabled on weekends or specified holidays (disables history
for the specified day/date and time). You do not need to make any entries in
the top list (the default is to download at the given rate all day everyday). For
example, if you want to disable history on the weekends, leave the top list empty
(download all day everyday) and add to the NOT list an entry for weekends. You
can select everyday, weekdays (Monday-Friday), weekends (Saturday and Sunday),
specific weekdays (Monday, Tuesday, … Sunday), or specified dates (January 1,
December 25, etc…). You can select all day or specify a time period (7:30:00 –
19:00:00). It is probably most common to leave the default schedule (all
day everyday) and add entries to the NOT list for specific day/date and
times that you want to disable history.
Disable Updates to the Database For This Vehicle: This checkbox will disable all
updates to the ODBC database for the selected
vehicle. Only use this option for vehicles you will never want database information
for. Once the database has been disabled the vehicle information will be
permanently lost (until this option is turned off). If the vehicle update is not
written to the database, there is no way to retrieve this information (it is
gone forever) - so be very careful about using this option. To disable updates to
the ODBC database for all vehicles, go to Tools... Database Connections... Export tab and
select ‘Disable ODBC database connection’.
Disable Updates to the Report File For This Vehicle: This checkbox will disable all
updates to the report file for the selected
vehicle. Only use this option for vehicles you will never want report file (ASCII
text) information for. Once the report file has been disabled the vehicle
information will be permanently lost (until this option is turned off). If the
vehicle update is not written to the report file, there is no way to access the ASCII
text information (it is gone forever) - so be very careful about using this
option. To disable reports for all vehicles, go to Tools…Options…System…Vehicle
tab and unselect Auto Enabled Reports.
Disable Updates to the Recording File For This Vehicle: This checkbox will disable
all updates to the recorded playback file for the
selected vehicle. Only use this option for vehicles you will never want playback
files for. Once the recording has been disabled the vehicle information will be
permanently lost (until this option is turned off). If the vehicle update is
not written to the recording file, there is no way to playback the recording at
a later time (it is gone forever) - so be very careful about using this option.
To disable recordings for all vehicles, go to Tools…Options…System…Vehicle
tab and unselect Auto Enabled Recording.
Import Vehicle Settings From Vehicle.ini File...: This button will allow you to import (load) additional vehicle settings from a file (vehicle.ini).
Browse to a folder and select the vehicle.ini file you wish to import vehicles from. All vehicles in the file will be imported into
RASTRAC except vehicles already defined (existing vehicles will not be modified or updated).
Get Vehicle Settings From Server: This button will allow a Client to query the Server for all of the client’s vehicle
settings. Use this option when you have no vehicles defined (after a new install) or if new vehicles were added to the Server for the
client (or current Server vehicle settings were modified). WARNING: All of your current vehicle settings will be permanently
overwritten with the Server vehicle settings.
The ‘Apply’ button will apply all settings on this page to the selected vehicles. If a single defined vehicle is selected then
the Apply button is disabled and all settings on this page will automatically be saved.
